We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to fill a part time Specimen Reception Lab Aide position at our Tamworth laboratory. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager we are looking for someone who can:

  • Share in the company’s vision, cultures and values through the respect for all.
  • Work effectively with team/work group and those outside the formal line of authority (e.g., peers, customers, and suppliers).
  • Express ideas effectively in individual and group situations (including non-verbal communication)
  • Adjust language or terminology to the characteristics and needs of the audience
  • Consistently follow procedures.
  • Be compliant with Standard Operating Procedures, Quality Standards and Workplace Health & Safety Procedures
  • Undertake Manual handling duties as required
  • Adhere to rosters and be punctual
  • Attain and maintain specific competencies / proficiencies as documented in the Proficiency Standards of the Laverty EBA/MA.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of GGG ULTRA Computer System desirable but not essential.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Vaccine preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is a requirement of this role
  • Other vaccinations based on location may be required / setting

Responsibilities:

We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Monitor arrival and dispatch of specimens and forms in a timely manner
  • Answering internal and external enquiries
  • Filing and retrieval of specimens, where applicable
  • Maintain workstation/area adequately, such as general housekeeping
  • Ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities as required
