Bureau Veritas is looking for an
YOU ARE AN IDEAL ANALYST 2 IF YOU HAVE [MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS]:
- You possess a Bachelor of Science Degree, major in Microbiology preferred
- You have 1 to 3 years of experience in related area of testing
- You have good time-management, communication, multi-tasking and priority setting skills
- You have the ability to perform simple calculations.
- You have a positive outlook with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- You must be able to distinguish between different color reactions.
- You have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- You have the ability to work as part of a team.
- You are organized.
- You have a professional attitude.
This is a 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. position.
Overtime may be required with short notice.
This position will require a Saturday shift rotation (approx. 2/month).

Responsibilities:
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures.
- Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations.
- Responsible for sample prep and analysis.
- Ability to safely handle pure microbiological organisms and cultures.
- Quality Media preparation and laboratory maintenance.
- General housekeeping of laboratory and workstations.
- Prepare samples, sub-samples and reagents. Ensure samples, extracts and standard solutions are properly labelled and stored in the appropriate location.
- Operation of autoclave, balances and meters.
- Maintain up to date maintenance records.
- Meet quality and turnaround time specifications required by the client and ensure samples are analysed within holding time requirements.
- Provide supervisor with updates on workstation status including advance notification of any delays.
- Maintaining a clean organized workspace.
- Train Lab Technicians and Analyst 1 as required.
- Ability to work overtime, weekend rotations and late shifts to accommodate client needs.
- Other duties as assigned
