Description:

One Scientific is proud to be part of the Tentamus group which has seven laboratories in the UK offering a wide range of food and pharmaceutical testing. Our laboratories in Avonmouth, Bristol specialise in Chemistry, Microbiology and Molecular Biology testing in food. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our small Chemistry team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in Food Chemistry or Nutritional Analysis to gain or develop laboratory experience in a supportive and friendly environment. The role will also enable you to gain an understanding of quality requirements and support the laboratory to continuously improve our systems and processes. No experience is necessary as full training will be provided.

  • General science background is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities:

To perform testing of food and water samples in accordance with our UKAS accreditation to ISO 17025.

  • Perform sample preparation according to in-house procedures.
  • Perform routine nutritional analysis.
  • Prepare reagents and solutions for testing of samples inhouse.
  • Maintain good laboratory records.
  • Data entry into LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
  • Participate in proficiency testing schemes as required.
  • Perform routine instrument maintenance and checks as required.
  • Maintain safety practices in all aspects of lab operations.
  • Maintain general lab cleanliness, including the cleaning of lab equipment and glassware.
