POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for autoclaving and washing glassware used by laboratories and assisting with laboratory duties in a research setting.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.

• Must have some degree of manual dexterity and be able to work around detergents.

SKILLS:

Autoclaves, Cleaning Work Area, Glassware, Mail Delivery, Manual Dexterity

• Collects glassware from the laboratories, washing all glassware and/or plasticware in the washer. Some containers, spatulas and other small items have to be washed by hand.
• Returns clean glassware to the laboratories.
• Picks up and delivers Department mail from post office and distributes to employee’s mailboxes.
• Autoclaves bottles, cylinders, pipettes tips, etc.
