What’s the job?
The primary role of the Laboratory Assistant is to support the Laboratory Coordinator and ensure that they can perform their duties effectively. The Laboratory Assistant helps to improve the efficiency of an organization by enhancing the productivity of the Laboratory Coordinator. This allows the Laboratory Coordinator to focus on their core tasks, while the Laboratory Assistant takes care of more menial tasks and other responsibilities associated with preparing laboratory-based teaching sessions and spaces.
Day-to-day accountabilities:

Working closely with the Laboratory Coordinator and Academic staff:

  • Ensure stocks of teaching materials are maintained
  • Class set up for simulations and assessments
  • Printing of learning materials, as required
  • Cleaning, refilling, relabeling and restocking of equipment / consumables
  • Recycling of suitable equipment
  • Ensuring laboratory spaces are clean and tidy
  • Other duties as determined on a case-by-case basis

This is a casual position working on Campus up to 20 hours per week. The role would ideally suit Diploma of Health Science students.
We have positions available at Brisbane, Surry Hills, Flinders Street and Wakefield Campus.
