POSITION SUMMARY:

Discovery is looking for a talented and passionate Laboratory Associate to join our dynamic Genomics team. As a Laboratory Associate, you will play a pivotal role in our scientific endeavors. If you have a passion for science and a knack for teamwork, this is the role for you!

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE):

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences degree program
  • Experience with basic lab functions such as pipetting and basic laboratory math
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify and solve problems

  • Onsite at our corporate office in Huntsville, AL
  • Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm

Responsibilities:

  • Operation of basic laboratory equipment such as centrifuge, liquid handlers, and laboratory specific equipment.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with listed SOPs and policies.
  • Adherence to EH&S and regulatory requirements (i.e., PPE)
  • Identify materials/reagents needs and communicate with team leads
  • Maintain all appropriate records, as required by different processes (lab notebook, sample information, worksheets, etc.).
  • Participate in general laboratory maintenance for equipment, materials, and/or reagents
  • Compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements for the biopharmaceutical industry (e.g., GCP/GCLP, 21 CFR Part 11, CAP/CLIA, HIPAA).
  • Ability to follow established protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ability to follow instructions from senior laboratory staff within established timelines.
  • Ability to review laboratory data for quality and consistency is preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic laboratory troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Consistent and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
