Responsibilities:

  • Support Laboratory Manager in research and development activities including but not limited to planning, executing and reviewing validation and verification processes.
  • Contribute to health and safety process development.
  • Contribute to the quality management system framework to include record keeping, procedures/SOPs, internal audits and document reviews.
  • Perform senior laboratory Development duties and provide cover when needed.
  • Ensure processes for logging and maintaining equipment are maintained.
  • Ensure calibration/maintenance schedule is up to date.
  • Maintain own competency in all technical areas of the laboratory.
  • Review CAPA log and support on introducing improvements.
  • Perform training/train the trainer/Check and Challenge.
  • Work with the Senior Laboratory Development Specialist and collaborate with seniors to validate and verify new services. Work with quality on associated extension to scope applications.
  • Ensuring consistent compliance with the Quality System and ISO 15189 accreditation.
  • Ensuring at all times that a high degree of accuracy and precision is applied to methods and procedures through incorporating and promoting good laboratory practice principles.
  • Working in accordance with laboratory policies, including (but not limited to) confidentiality, data protection, code of conduct, and waste disposal.
  • Contributing to team meetings in a thoughtful and effective way.
  • Performing risk assessments and internal audits as required.
  • Overseeing all acceptance testing for equipment, reagents and consumables, and ensuring the ongoing functionality of all equipment, including calibration and mapping.
  • Ensure the maintenance of laboratory records, including but not limited to, quality control records, nonconformance and CAPA.
  • Write and maintain SOP’s and Work Instructions.
