ABOUT YOU

This position requires a University Degree in Biotechnology or Food Science as well as experience in Food or Chemistry processing, working practical in laboratory and with pilot equipment. We are looking for a person with a creative and analytical mindset, is strong in documentation, and can plan and perform experiments, interpret and analyze data, and prepare reports. Furthermore, you need to be a self-directed team player with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills and with the ability to communicate complex information. You must have a driver’s license and a strong business proficiency in verbal and written English.

Our ABSOLUT R&D team in Åhus is looking for a Laboratory Engineer R&D for a temporary employment until September 2025. The Laboratory Engineer R&D conducts routine and development analyses, generates data and results using instrumentation or equipment that requires an understanding of microbiology, analytical chemistry and pilot/process technology. Building effective knowledge and collaboration with other departments involved in product development and production are important parts of the job.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Assisting the R&D Group in conducting experiments related to R&D projects, primarily focusing on fermentation but also other experiments.
• Planning and performing experiments, interpret results, analyze data, and write reports.
• Performing microbiological, sensory and chemical analyses such as FCM, GC/HPLC analysis.
• Conducting experiments on a pilot scale.
• Providing theoretical expertise in new R&D areas through literature reviews.
• Updating and developing instructions and guiding documents for instruments and equipment.
• Developing and implementing new analysis methods related to research and development needs.
