QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Rehabilitation Science of or a corresponding degree

in Health Sciences with two to four years of relevant experience. Prior teaching and post-graduation professional experience in a relevant area, an asset.

  • Understanding of the career possibilities for undergraduate students in HKAP, an asset.
  • Understanding of the Concordia environment in terms of scheduling, programs, grading, and in particular strong understanding of programs in HKAP, an asset.
  • Strong theoretical and practical background in anatomy and biomechanics. Strong technical and trouble-shooting skills an asset.
  • Basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database skills.
  • Good communication skills in English (level 4). Basic spoken French (Level 3)
  • Demonstrated personal initiative and leadership skills, as well as organization, and team
  • work capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and teach undergraduate laboratories.
  • Mentor (meet/guide/counsel/direct) undergraduate students with respect to format and content of laboratory projects and assignments.
  • Prepare, administer and grade laboratory exams, quizzes, projects and assignments as well as tabulate grades.
  • Train and supervise graduate and undergraduate students to assist teaching of undergraduate laboratories (manage course-related teaching assistants); occasionally support graduate laboratories.
  • Develop, compose and prepare laboratory manuals and instructional materials (video, software, presentations).
  • Set-up and maintain technical equipment.
  • Manage teaching inventory, research and recommend purchases.
  • Recommend and implement approved upgrades and improvements to laboratory facilities and practices.
