Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Laboratory Manager to oversee the operations of our laboratories. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this critical role ensures the smooth and efficient running of our laboratories while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality. If you are someone with a passion for optimising laboratory spaces, maintaining meticulous standards, and driving solutions, this is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact.
You will be at the heart of ensuring that our research is conducted seamlessly, liaising across teams to support our operations and current and future compliance frameworks and activities. This role is perfect for someone who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and thrives on taking ownership of laboratory excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the efficient day-to-day functioning of the laboratory facilities including multi-use laboratory spaces and insectaries
- Oversee maintenance, servicing, and calibration to ensure all equipment and facilities meet operational needs
- Maintain meticulous records and report on these internally, and externally, as required
- Design, implement and optimise scalable laboratory processes and workflows
- Inventory control of consumables
- Cost control of lab procurement
- Coordinate laboratory health & safety, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards
- Design and write SOPs, conduct risk assessments and train laboratory users
- Maintain excellent laboratory standards at an appropriate readiness level for internal and external quality inspection
