Job Description
Hours: 40 hours per week- 4 days on 6 days off, 2 day shifts (07:00am – 19:00pm), 2 night shifts (19:00pm – 07:00am), followed by 6 days off.
Job Location: Ellesmere Port
Salary: Competitive salary + Shift allowance
POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Laboratory Shift Supervisor, you will manage the laboratory’s daily operations during your assigned shift, ensuring all activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a understanding of laboratory practices within the oil and gas sector.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate laboratory personnel and activities during your shift.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of oil and gas samples.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Conduct regular quality control checks and ensure accurate documentation of results.
- Provide training and guidance to laboratory staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the shift.
- Communicate effectively with other shift supervisors and management to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Experience in a service industry related to the petro-chemical industry.
- A Levels Science/Mathematics/English grades A to C, or equivalent or 5 year experience in an analytical laboratory.
- Good communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Able to adopt a flexible approach to work and react effectively to a rapidly changing environment.
- Working knowledge of effective people management techniques.
- Full UK driving license
