Job Description

  • The main responsibility of this role will be carried out in a metallurgical laboratory.
  • After appropriate training, independently prepare various samples for testing according to SGS’ SOPs.
  • Performs routine operation, maintenance of instruments/equipment.
  • Inputs and maintains technical information, as needed, to support the laboratory functions/operations.
  • May conduct non-interpretive lab testing.
  • Maintains Laboratory testing record where applicable.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitors inventory levels of chemicals and consumables, ensuring appropriate levels, at all times.
  • Ensures all chemicals are labelled appropriately, required personal protective equipment is worn
  • consistently, and all safety precautions are followed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior general working experience
  • Relevant laboratory experience is an asset
