AGAT Laboratories is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician A to join our team working out of our Thunder Bay location. The successful candidate will be able to work independently on laboratory activities with the responsibility for maintaining instruments and equipment used in the lab. It is expected that this position is able to work independently, with direction from the Laboratory Manager.
The schedule for this position is a four day on, four day off rotational schedule for 12 hour shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree or diploma in Science or equivalent experience required.
- 2+ years laboratory experience with required.
- Able to operate, troubleshoot and maintain analytical instruments.
- Knowledge of full laboratory processes.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
Responsibilities:
- Perform sample, reagent and calibration preparation as directed.
- Calibrate, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and conduct routine maintenance on all assigned laboratory instruments.
- Compile, verify and validate accurate data records.
- Meet quality assurance and turnaround specifications.
- Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Report results.
- Other duties as assigned.
