SUMMARY:
AGAT Laboratories is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Laboratory Technician with experience in Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) working out of our Dartmouth, NS facility. This is a position with a permanent status. The Laboratory Technician will play a crucial role in supporting our research and development activities.
Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with GC-MS.
- Strong understanding of organic chemistry principles.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Assisting in the development and optimization of analytical methods.
- Maintaining accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in method development and validation.
- Familiarity with other analytical techniques such as HPLC or NMR.
- Knowledge of laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and processing samples for GC-MS analysis.
- Operating and maintaining GC-MS instruments to analyze organic compounds.
- Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal.
- Calibrate, operate, maintain and troubleshoot intermediate instruments.
- Compile, verify and validate accurate data records.
- Meet quality assurance and turn around specifications.
- Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Interpreting and reporting analytical data.
- Ensuring compliance with laboratory safety protocols and quality control standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
