The Intrax Geotechnical Division is committed to redefining what is possible and blurring the line between probable and improbable. The Geotechnical division facilitates a highly precise and reliable service, delivered using state of the art geotechnical analysis techniques.
We are looking for a highly driven Laboratory Technician to join our Geo team on a permanent-full time basis. This role is based in Scoresby, Victoria and involves the testing of soils as per AS1289 and providing supervision of bulk earthwork projects.
Responsibilities:
IN THIS EXCITING AND FAST PACED ROLE YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL INCLUDE:
- Conducting soil tests in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, laboratory work instructions, test methods, preparation instructions, quality procedures and manuals
- Preparing samples for laboratory testing
- Supervision and testing of Level 1 earthworks
- Calibrating laboratory equipment as required
- Liaising with technical and sales staff in relation to internal/external customer requirements and complaints
- Maintaining, observing, and taking part in the statutory safety requirements of the laboratory’s operation
- Maintaining the laboratory’s equipment according to company and accreditation requirements
- Using and transporting nuclear density gauges
- Assisting in workflow planning, actively seeking to improve processes in the laboratory and office
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Cert IV Laboratory Techniques
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Level 3 as per NATA CMT document
- Manual light vehicle licence
- Nuclear density gauge use licence
- White card or equivalent
- AS1289 testing experience
- Working knowledge of the requirements of ISO17025 – 2017
- Experience in Level 1 Supervision & Testing projects
