Description:

Organization Overview: We pursue a combination of biochemical,molecular,and genetic approaches to define the checkpoints that regulate B cell development,antibody production,and B cell tolerance. A second area of interest is in dendritic cells. Our interests range from the earliest phases of the B cell pathway,including the commitment to becoming a B cell through the completion of maturation. Our ongoing work includes a focus on mechanisms of V(D)J recombination,somatic mutation,isotype switching,allelic exclusion,and tolerance. Overview:
The Laboratory Technician will ensure that the lab functions smoothly to allow the highest level of science by managing day-to-day lab activities including the maintenance of essential equipment and software, overseeing the maintenance of the lab, and supporting the HOL and office staff with administrative duties as needed.
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Picking up packages from receiving and mail room, and distributing as needed
  • Preparing commonly used reagents and lab supplies (restocking, monitoring of supply demands, etc.)
  • Maintenance of equipment and software
  • Ensuring cleanliness of high use areas
  • Performing administrative duties

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Must be able to do light physical labor, work independently as well as under direct supervision, and possess basic computer skills for ordering supplies and for performing fundamental digital tasks
  • Must be willing to carry out unscheduled, spontaneous tasks that temporarily disrupt daily routines
  • Enthusiasm for working in a technical research laboratory

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous cleaning or porter work is a plus
  • Previous experience in a lab environment is a plus

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on various factors, including but not limited to organizational budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range provided represents The Rockefeller University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Compensation Range: Min: USD $42,500.00/Yr. Compensation Range: Max: USD $46,000.00/Yr
