Description:

Research Laboratory Technician ¿ Part time
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated part time Research Laboratory Technician for the Cambridge Neurobiomarker Laboratory. The laboratory focusses principally on neurotrauma, and collaborates widely with diverse groups of neuroscience researchers to assay markers of brain injury and inflammation. Platforms utilised in the laboratory include cutting edge Quanterix Simoa and BioTechne Ella assays, as well as more common assays such as ELISA.
Key responsibilities will be Processing blood samples, including serum, plasma and peripheral mononuclear cells, organising and cataloguing bio samples, running SIMOA, ELLA, ELISA assays, managing and managing and ordering stock.
The succesful candidate will also be expected to maintain department health and safety records, undertake staff training and ensuring all lab users comply to regulations, promote Good Laboratory Practice and liaise with H&S and Biological Safety officers in Department of Medicine and Clinical Neurosciences.
The role holder will be expected to take part in the T-scan on-call rota for the departments 3 x -80C freezers housed in the lab (Level 4) and the Dept of Medicine freezer room (Level 1). They will be expected to liaise with external centres and collaborators of TBI reporter and oversee the coordination of MTAs for sample transfer.
Finally, they will monitor lab budgets and expenditure for the work package and liaise closely with the Project Manager for TBI reporter.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 48 months in the first instance.
