Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Provides equipment training and technical support to users
- Conducts routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Liaises with vendors and engineers on equipment-related issues
- Follows preventative maintenance schedule for calibration and cleaning of lab equipment
- Understands and follows all Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Assists in daily lab operation and ensure safety in the lab
- Maintains good laboratory safety and housekeeping standards
- Orders basic lab supplies and equipment consumables
- Undertakes additional tasks as assigned by management to support the operational and safety objectives of the laboratory
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma/Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related disciplines
- 1 year of experience working with analytical equipment (Those with no experience are welcomed to apply)
- Experience with GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP-MS is preferred
- Experience in operating and troubleshooting analytical equipment
- Strong computer skills and experience with instrument and database software
- Attention to detail and ability to efficiently organize tasks
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively within a diverse team including a small group of laboratory technologists and a larger group of researchers
- High standards for working safely, including proper storage, labelling, and use of chemicals, compliance with safe work practices and policies, and housekeeping requirement
- Ability to plan time and activities, highlight issues with priorities and resources
- Sets high quality standards and demonstrate a sense of urgency
