Description:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years of progressive HR experience
  • Post-secondary Certificate/Diploma in HR, Business Administration, or Industrial Relations
  • CHRP/CHRL designation is a plus
  • Strong computer skills, including HRIS and ATS experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Are you a skilled HR professional with a passion for labour relations? Join us as an Employee Services Administrator (Labour Relations) where you’ll play a key role in enhancing employee relations, managing return-to-work programs, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the Employee Services Manager and Director of Labour Relations on research and trends related to collective bargaining, human rights, and occupational health and safety.
  • Maintain and manage documentation for collective bargaining preparation, grievance trackers, and risk assessment files.
  • Support and conduct investigations related to employee conduct and disputes.
  • Monitor grievance procedures, aiming to reduce the volume and duration through effective resolution techniques.
  • Provide guidance on a range of HR and labour issues, and assist in collective bargaining sessions as a corporate negotiator.
  • Assist in completing Level 1 and 2 grievances.
  • Partner with the Regional Operations team and Director of Employee Services to coordinate return-to-work plans and manage leave of absence and disability cases.
  • Ensure compliance with benefit administration requirements for leave of absences.
  • Oversee the Attendance Management Program and communicate best practices with the operations team.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and Manager, Employee Services to ensure compliance with training requirements, including fire safety and JHSC policies.
  • Coordinate enrolment and completion of health and safety certification training and ensure vendors meet service quality standards.
  • Work with JHSC at the property level to meet health and safety program initiatives.
  • Assist with payroll activities, including creating new hire agreements, approving new hires in the HRIS system, and updating agreements to comply with collective agreements as needed
  • Review turnover, vacation, sick leave, and personal leaves through monthly reports to identify risks and opportunities.
