Description:
Responsibilities:
- Provides guidance, direction, and support to the leadership team with performance management and labour relations matters.
- Maintains effective union / management relationships.
- Will be responsible for preparing, attending, and representing the organization at grievance, mediation, arbitration and hearings as required.
- Manage the grievance and arbitration procedures including the drafting of formal responses to grievances and settlement agreements, ensuring consistency in resolving issues.
- Actively participate in labour management meetings.
- Champions open, positive, effective communication and collaborative solutions with the union.
- Develop and implement tracking of grievances, arbitrations and employee relation issues; proactively identify trends, implement metrics and develop and implement reporting and/or dashboards for senior leaders to inform, proactive program development and risk mitigation.
- Conducts workplace investigations.
- Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
- Builds strong relationships and networks across the organization.
- Provides ongoing feedback to the Director, People, Culture, and Support Services and the Manager of HR, regarding HR needs and opportunities for program development, and/or resources.
- Champions service excellence with internal and external contacts and acts as an ambassador of the organization.
- Champions the Brant County Health Unit Mission, Vision and Values
- Travel between multiple sites may be required.
