Description:
The Labour Relations Specialist ensures that his or her team consistently applies the company’s labour relations policies and practices and supports the operational team in disciplinary and labour-management matters. He is the labour relations contact at Montreal Airport (YUL)

Labor Relations Specialist responsibilities :
- Mentor the Labor Relations team to advise employees, management and operations on a wide range of labor and employee relations issues, including performance management, discipline, investigations, case law and interpersonal relationship problems.
- Contribute to grievance management beyond step 3 by taking charge of the mediation and negotiation process to ensure effective grievance management and minimize organizational and financial costs, and ultimately, if necessary, contribute to the preparation of arbitration files.
- Contribute to collective bargaining, including the preparation and negotiation phase.
- Contribute to the development of training programs for operational and administrative teams.
- Participate in the development of our labor relations service offering by implementing new, innovative practices.
Labor Relations Specialist Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years experience in human resources, preferably in a unionized environment.
- Post-secondary education in human resources or labour relations, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working in a federal jurisdiction is ideal.
- Work experience in a labor relations position, ideally in team supervision.
- Experience in disciplinary investigations and the implementation of corrective measures (e.g. disciplinary actions).
