Currently we are in need of experienced and dedicated General Construction Labourer to join our site at W. Pender in downtown Vanouver. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who would like to work with one of BC’s most respected and proven residential and mixed-use developers.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge and experience working in a constriction site is a requirement.
  • Knowledge of various tools and equipment as well as materials and methods of construction is a requirement.
  • Telehandler Forklift Certificate is an asset.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • A high commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including laborers, technical, professional, and upper management.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment, with established team building abilities.
  • Strong communication, leadership, integration, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work safely in a construction environment.
  • Must have own steel toe boots.
  • Must be comfortable working outside in all types of weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas.
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at construction sites.
  • Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt.
  • Assist tradespersons such as carpenters, bricklayers, cement finishers, roofers and glaziers in construction activities.
  • Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities.
  • Assist in drilling, aligning pipes and perform related activities during oil and gas pipeline construction.
  • Assist in demolishing buildings using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean and pile salvaged materials.
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment.
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction such as mixers, compressors and pumps.
  • Clean up on job site.
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites.
  • Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.
