Description:
Overview:
- Position: Lactation Consultant
- Schedule: PRN- no set schedule or guaranteed hours. The need will be primarily day shift with flexible hours. Weekend availability preferred.
- Department: Lactation
- Location: Kernersville Medical Center, Kernersville, North Carolina.
- Requires current IBCLC license
Provides breastfeeding/ lactation guidance to patients, families, staff, and community in delivering education, information and training that responds to individualized needs in accordance with the current policies and procedures. Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, preferred. Bachelor’s degree, preferred. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in mother/baby care or breast feeding education, required.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current IBCLC certification, required.
- Current RN licensure in appropriate state, preferred.
- Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Excellent customer service skills.
