An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Transport Engineering Workshops team as a Vehicle Ladder Technician and driver. The role is based at our workshops centre in Perry Barr, Birmingham
Your responsibilities as a Ladder Technician will include the service and maintenance of several types of ladders to BSEN 1147, all relevant training will be provided for you to carry out the required tasks.
It is essential that you are physically fit, as this role involves a large amount of lifting, bending and manual dexterity. It is also essential that you hold a current driving licence as some driving may be required to collect and deliver vehicles to and from our workshops.
We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate the aptitude to manage multiple technical / practical disciplines to a consistently high-quality standard. You will be required to process all documentation associated within your role. You will also be expected to work individually or as part of a team where necessary. Responsibilities

Experience and skills Essential skills or experience
- full light vehicle driving licence
- be self-motivated and able to plan your workload effectively
- able to bend, lift, carry and be dextrous enough to fulfil this physically demanding role
- follow role-based risk assessments, also keep your work area clean and free from hazards
- be prepared to assist team members as and when required.
Desirable skills or experience
- LGV Cat C Driving licence and trailer towing experience would be an advantage
- a previous mechanical background would be advantageous.
