Lairage Supervisor

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Previous experience in livestock handling is essential
• Knowledge of animal welfare best practice
• Good numeric and communication skills essential
• Must have the ability to work on your own initiative whilst also working as part of a team
• Tractor driving skills desirable but not essential

• Participating in the day-to-day running of the lairage
• Working closely with the Animal Welfare Officer to actively promote and ensure Animal Welfare is adhered to at all times with the expectation that you will become a trained Animal Welfare Officer (full training given)
• Ensuring that the loading and unloading of livestock is performed to the required standard
• Ensuring that the movement of animals within the lairage is completed in a safe and calm manner without causing stress to the animals.
• Checking and completing legal documentation to ensure the legal operation of the business
• Ensuring information is put on to the system correctly
• Assist with the daily cleaning schedule in the lairage
