Description:

The main purpose of this position/job is to provide ICT support to all staff and teaching venues used by the School staff, assist with IT related procurement, maintain the software and database licenses, provide AV support for SEF events. The incumbent is required to maintain all current servers, PCs and printers, and ensure that downtime is kept to a minimum. To keep abreast of technology in the IT field and ensure that the School is at all times utilizing systems allowing it to achieve its goals. The incumbent is required to train, monitor and update students and staff of the School of Economics and Finance on aspects of the computer network and Wits IT systems to ensure that they are able to maximize the use of computers systems for information retrieval and/or the processing of research correspondence.
Competencies:
Knowledge of Wits ICT systems, Network technologies for PCs, laptops, printers, AV and Hybrid software and hardware, Microsoft Windows etc.
Constant upskilling and learning on the job, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, multitasking, good communication and team player skills.
