POSITION OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager/Assistant Project Manager with all aspects of earthworks and municipal infrastructure/servicing construction projects including budget, schedules, contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and forecasting. The role also supports land due diligence, project feasibility, and project coordination through municipal government approval processes.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- A Technical Diploma, or BASc in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in municipal infrastructure, land development and/or earthworks. A portion of which was directly involved in project coordination.
- The ability to travel throughout the lower mainland with access to your own vehicle
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Passion for construction and project management
- Recognized analytical and research skills
- The ability to handle a heavy workload, multitask and prioritize
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills
The annual base pay range for this position will be based on the desired experience level for this role. Responsibilities:
- Quantity take-offs from servicing concepts.
- Prepare estimate of offsite and onsite infrastructure requirements including earthworks for land development.
- Source quotations for material supply and installation.
- Attend municipal planning/engineering review meetings to address Beedie’s interests, record minutes and circulate to attendees/Land Development group.
- Assist in the preparation and issuance of the project tender packages, including scopes of work customized for the specific project
- Prepare bid analysis spreadsheets and recommendations for PM approval
- Letter of credit system management including reductions and coordination with consultants/contractors/municipalities.
- Permit applications and printing drawings and submissions.
- Prepare Request for Proposals for consultants and contractors and issue awards.
- Issue, maintain and organize purchase orders and sub-contracts.
- As-built/report searches at municipalities.
- Document management and formatting.
- Maintain Land Development share directory.
- Archive completed projects and related files – digital.
- Prepare Meeting Agendas.
- Monitor the site progress and review the quality of the work completed and note any deviations from the project timelines or specifications to the PM
- Identify and note any site safety issues to the site superintendent and site safety officer
- Expense Reports/Project Cost Reports including reviews of budgets vs. actuals.
- Schedule meetings based on attendants availabilities, book meeting rooms and print required documents for discussion.
- Take Meeting Minutes and send to all attendees within a day of the meeting, include action items.
- Assist Project Teams with administrative tasks as required to maintain budgets and schedules.
