Fisher Associates, P.E., L.S., L.A., D.P.C. is a consulting engineering and professional services firm serving the Transportation, Land Development and Energy market sectors. Our comprehensive services include landscape architecture, planning, engineering, environmental, survey, GIS and construction representation. We are headquartered in Rochester NY, with eight offices throughout NY, PA and TX.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years of surveying experience preferred.
  • Experience in operating electronic survey instrumentation including total stations, levels, GPS, and data collectors.
  • Customer Service and Client Relations experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

THE PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THIS ROLE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

  • Set up and operate a variety of surveying instruments, including total station, data collector, level, scanner, and GPS in gathering survey data for topographic, boundary, ALTA, construction stakeout, and utility surveys.
  • Cutting and clearing brush and trees from line of survey, using brush hook, machete, chain saw or other cutting tools.
  • Read and interpret various types of maps and plans.
  • Complete neat field notes and sketches
  • Maintain survey equipment. Keep it clean and dry. Report any broken or damaged equipment to the Party Chief.
  • Ensure that batteries for all equipment are fully charged on a nightly basis.
  • Keep survey truck stocked with necessary supplies and tools. Keep it swept out and cleaned as needed.
  • Keep equipment room cleaned and organized. Keep track of supplies (flagging, paint, caps, lath, rebar, etc.) to ensure an adequate supply is on hand.
  • Assisting the Party Chief as directed.
  • Effectively coordinate with other sectors and service lines to as necessary to fulfill project needs.
