Landscaper/Groundskeeper Crew Lead

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Property Operations Manager, the Landscaper/Groundskeeper Crew Lead ensures that Resort grounds are clean, groomed and presented in an optimal aesthetic manner. The Landscaper/Groundskeeper Crew Lead must be physically fit and prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including movements such as bending, stooping, kneeling and climbing stairs when required. Some tasks will be repetitive and involve standing or walking for long periods of time.

QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

• Previous horticulture, landscaping or grounds-keeping experience/education is an asset
• Ability to work well unsupervised, at a fast pace while maintaining quality standards
• Ability to manage and cohesively work with fellow colleagues as part of a team
• Ability to maintain a high level of work ethic, attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication, proficient in English both verbally and in written work
• Highly responsible and reliable
• Valid driver’s license
  Physical Demands
  Must be physically fit and be able to lift moderately heavy items; also must be able to make movements, such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing stairs when required, with ease. In addition, Room Attendants will be required to perform repetitive tasks and stand on their feet and/or walk for long periods of time.

The key responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

• Manage small grounds maintenance team
• Manage holistic grounds plan
• Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin axle-vehicles, leaf blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters and pruning saws
• Perform lawn maintenance and plant beds by mowing, mulching, weeding, aerating, grubbing, thatch removal, trimming or edging and pruning
• Clean and maintain walkways
• Maintain or repair tools, equipment or structures
• Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters or other grounds features
• Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, onto grass, shrubs, trees etc
• Maintain resort garbage/recycling bins, dog bag dispensers, ashtrays
• Work closely with Guest Services and Housekeeping departments to ensure guest satisfaction
• Comply with all Resort safety guidelines and be familiar with emergency procedures
• Perform other job-related duties and special projects assigned.
