Description:
This post is ideal for those candidates wishing to pursue a career in Plastic Surgery. There is opportunity within this large and prestigious unit to expand on clinical, operative, educational and academic skills which will assist in becoming competitive for recruitment to higher plastic surgical training programmes. Ward rounds and trauma conference are held daily at the Northern General Hospital. Under the guidance of the Consultant Staff, the post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of elective and emergency patients as well on the Burns Unit.
The successful candidate will, subject to competency, have some independent operating, in the form of minor operating lists, for skin cancer and for trauma, as well as access to lists in the main theatres. Experience in ward rounds, out-patients and operating lists will be obtained at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. On call commitments will cover both the adult hospitals as well as paediatric trauma at the Sheffield Childrens Hospital
