Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Laser / Punch Operator is responsible for improving equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of material, machines and facilities necessary for the production of parts. This individual will also lead the programming needs and scheduling of our growing fabrication dept. Working closely with the Leadership Team, this individual will assist in continuous improvement initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS / CERTIFICATIONS
- 3 years of experience in a sheet metal fabrication environment
- Preference of 3 years to those with qualification to have experience in operating a NC Punch or Laser and or troubleshoot operation
- Excellent PC based computer skills
- Solid Edge or similar 3D CAD experience
- Experience with Amada CAD/CAM software is an asset.
- Experience with operating Amada, NC, Laser or Laser/Combo
- Strong technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines
- Demonstrate excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
- Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently in an organized fashion.
- Ability to communicate progress status to team members and management at all levels.
- Knowledge of manufacturing industry practices, engineering principles
- MRP experience is an asset.
- Lean/Process Improvement background
