JOB DESCRIPTION
This role partners very closely with the Wholesale Payments FIG Sales team who have the direct origination responsibility for Trade as well as Treasury Services business for FI clients in Latin America and support for Americas. The LATAM Trade PSS will report to the VP FIG trade sales for LATAM and will work intensively with FIG Sales on client origination and revenue generation; driving new pipeline, up-tiering revenues on existing clients, driving new innovative ideas and traditional trade solutions, and ensuring high quality implementation of transactions with the highest levels of client satisfaction. They will provide specialist Trade knowledge and product support wherever necessary to drive our ambitious targets for growth, and act as a liaison between FIG Sales and Trade Product. The role includes close partnership with the Banking organization, Credit team and the broader Trade Product team and the Corporate Trade Sales team to increase LATAM Trade wallet with FI clients.
This job offers an opportunity for the candidate to learn sales skills as well as build his or her experience in global Trade Finance
KEY SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated experience of positioning and winning new Trade flows from FIs in LATAM
- Expert knowledge of Trade Finance Core products and ability to position these as solutions to FI clients
- Access to / relationships in place with key and senior decision makers at clients
- Strong understanding of innovation in the FI space, including Trade Finance digitization.
- Knowledge of credit, risk and corporate governance and a clear understanding of regulatory issues / requirements
- Energetic self-starter.
- The role also anticipates working hours to be dedicated to US and Canadian FI clients
- Client business travel on its portfolio
- Strong analytical skills and presentation skills
- Fluency in Spanish and Portuguese

OVERVIEW OF ROLE
JP Morgan’s Financial Institutions (FI) correspondent banking are focusing every day more on Trade Business, to cover this necessity the business seeks an energetic and experienced Trade Finance professional to drive solutions to meet client needs, new business development and be jointly responsible for an specific portfolio of FI Trade clients in Latin America. FIG Trade LATAM is a dynamic, client-centric department focused on growth and serving some of the largest and most demanding clients
Will work intensively with FIG Sales on client origination and revenue generation; driving new pipeline, up-tiering revenues on existing clients, driving new innovative ideas and traditional trade solutions, and ensuring high quality implementation of transactions with the highest levels of client satisfaction.
They will provide specialist Trade knowledge and product support wherever necessary to drive our ambitious targets for growth, and act as a liaison between FIG Sales and Trade Product. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Growing LATAM Trade’s revenues with existing Financial Institutions clients
- Acting as first point of escalation and product support for the LATAM FIG TS Sales team.
- Support Americas FIG Trade Transactions
- Partnering closely with Wholesale Payments Treasury Services Sales, Global Corporate Bank, Credit team and other stakeholders to drive calling intensity, increase pipeline, close new deals and grow LATAM Trade Revenues
- Especially ensuring a strong partnership with FIG Treasury Services Sales in LATAM; providing strong technical product support to the origination teams to support their efforts.
- Developing and managing relationships with Financial Institutions in partnership with FIG Sales via regular visits to key coverage countries.
- Developing in-depth country, Industry and client knowledge / content and sharing it globally (at parent level) to drive new business cross-regionally.
- Comprehensive balance sheet monitoring, including portfolio reviews, trade committees approval & Loan Return Calculator (LRC) submissions.
- Developing and managing the pipeline of opportunities, and meeting annual sales revenue targets.
