In addition to your strong academic results throughout school and university, you will possess practical experiences that display your leadership abilities, teamwork, time management skills and outstanding customer service. To join our Library team, you will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Knowledge of online legal databases such as LexisNexis, Thomson Reuters and CCH Wolters Kluwer, AustLII and legislation databases
- Demonstrated practical experience using Microsoft office applications.
- Ability to deliver timely and accurate information
- Appreciation of the importance of the currency and accuracy of information resources
- Understand the time critical nature of legal research and alerting services

We are looking for a Law Clerk who is available to work 8.30am to 5.00pm, 3 days a week. You must be available to work on a Friday.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a passionate law student to join us on a casual basis in our HopgoodGanim Library team. Our Library Law Clerk will report directly to our Library Manager and will liaise on an internal consultant basis with all staff including Administrative, Professional and Support Staff, Vacation Clerks, Law Clerks, Work Experience Students and Paralegals.
The duties and responsibilities of our Library Law Clerk include but are not limited to:
- Providing simple and complex legal and business research and user assistance.
- Distributing of relevant business and legal information as identified.
- Coordinating inter-library loans as required.
- Maintaining Library databases to track Library resources and user details.
- Providing current awareness through production of a Library newsletter, media monitoring and daily media alerts.
- Maintaining Library resources i.e. looseleaf filing, mail, changing spine labels, processing books, or other activities as determined by the Library Manager.
- Helping maintain Library Intranet pages.
- Monitoring changes to planning schemes through the Qld Government Gazettes notices and Courier Mail public notices.
- Monitoring changes to Government forms and precedents through the Qld Government Gazette notices.
- Keeping practitioners abreast of changes in legislation through emails and updates on the Intranet.
- Working on projects in consultation with the Library Manager.
- Supporting the Library Manger in the promotion of Library activities.
