Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Law Co-op Student to join our team to assist with the review and analysis of our company’s terms and conditions. The successful candidate will work closely with our legal, compliance and business teams to ensure that all terms and conditions are up-to-date, clearly written, compliant with applicable laws and regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in legal studies, compliance or business administration to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment.
Your Tasks:
- Evaluate existing terms and conditions for clarity, compliance and consistency.
- Identify any outdated provisions and propose necessary updates.
- Ensure that terms and conditions are aligned with company policies and industry standards.
- Assist in ensuring that terms and conditions comply with relevant laws and regulations, including data privacy, customer protection and intellectual property laws.
- Work with the Commercial teams to track and incorporate regulatory changes that impact our terms
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing any risks, ambiguities or issues identified during the review process.
- Suggest recommendations, improvements and document any suggested revisions
- Collaborate with other departments to gather input on changes to terms and conditions
- Ensure that updates are effectively communicated to stakeholders and customers.
- High degree of accuracy in reviewing complex documents
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited law school program or a paralegal diploma program
- Knowledge of contract law, commercial law, corporate law, consumer protection and/or compliance principles
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including MS Word and Excel
- Strong analytical skills including ability to communicate findings and recommendations clearly in both written and verbal format
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in the completion of assigned tasks
