The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety is seeking an innovative and highly-skilled candidate to take on the role of Law Enforcement Technology Manager with the ministry’s Provincial Protective Services (PPS) Branch.
Composed of more than 300 frontline officers and totalling more than 450 employees, PPS focuses on safeguarding Saskatchewan’s people, infrastructure and natural resources, freeing up police agencies to concentrate on their respective mandates.
PPS consists of conservation and highway patrol officers, prisoner transport and court security deputy sheriffs, Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) officers, and Wascana Centre community safety officers.
The PPS Law Enforcement Technology Manager will lead the management, development and improvement of law enforcement-related technology.
Reporting to the PPS Director of Strategic Planning, you will provide service excellence, champion a one-team approach, identify strategic opportunities, and lead a team of specialist technicians and analysts.

Typically, the knowledge, skills and experience required for this position would be acquired through the completion of a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business Administration along with several years of related experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities:
- Providing management, direction, leadership and oversight for the development, deployment and support of law enforcement technology including in-vehicle equipment, communications devices and records management systems.
- Overseeing the development, implementation and optimization of policy and best practices related to records management, information analysis, and the development of collaborative intelligence for the branch.
- Leading needs assessments and the development of business cases, policies and programs to facilitate IT investment planning, decision making and monitoring, and ensure alignment within GOS and ministry frameworks, policies and standards.
- Developing, building and maintaining strategic relationships within the ministry, across government, with other law enforcement agencies, vendors and stakeholders to identify opportunities, promote the branch, and understand industry trends.
- Planning and supervising the work of the Law Enforcement Technology and Information Management Unit teams.
