We are seeking enthusiastic people to join various teams in our Objections and Review business area.
As a Law Interpretation Officer, you will use your relevant law and policy expertise and exercise judgement to solve complex, technical and sensitive taxation matters. You will analyse facts, evidence, and information. You will apply and interpret law and policies to resolve disputes. These may involve individuals (including high-wealth individuals), small businesses, public groups and multi-national businesses, private groups and high-risk taxpayers.
You will work closely with your team and a range of Commonwealth, tax, legal, and community stakeholders to resolve and prevent disputes. You’ll apply a holistic approach to law interpretation and decision making to maintain the integrity of the tax system, prioritising the overall client experience.
You will use your expertise to mentor and develop junior staff and share your knowledge with others.
These roles may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Adelaide, Albury, Box Hill (VIC), Brisbane CBD, Dandenong, Gosford, Hobart, Melbourne CBD, Moonee Ponds, Newcastle, Parramatta, Perth, Sydney CBD, Townsville or Upper Mount Gravatt.
