We are passionate about what we do and want you to be too. We value technical excellence and the ability to function independently or in a team. We offer a unique workplace culture and excellent opportunities to further your personal and professional development.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will be an admitted lawyer with 1-3 years’ PQE, with experience working in corporate and commercial law.
With sound technical foundations and intellectual curiosity on market and other developments, your commercial mindset and commitment to our clients will put you on a path for success. In addition to your experience, we are looking for the following characteristics:
- Well-developed written and verbal communication
- Attention to detail and organisation skills, with a focus on delivering excellent client service
- The ability to manage pressure to meet deadlines or changing circumstances
- Self-confidence, initiative and commitment to ongoing learning
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team, as well as autonomously
Responsibilities:
An opportunity has arisen in our Melbourne office for a Lawyer to join our Corporate & Commercial team. The team assist our Australian and international clients with corporate and commercial advice and transactions including mergers & acquisitions, equity and debt capital raisings, corporate governance & regulatory compliance advice (including foreign investment/FIRB), joint ventures, commercial contracts, protection and commercialisation of intellectual property rights and more. Variety is a key characteristic of the team, with our clients spanning across various industry sectors including mining, financial & corporate advisory, technology & fintech, health, retail & e-commerce, automotive and property development.
Day-to-day, you will be involved in mergers & acquisitions with a focus on private transactions (although some knowledge, experience or interest in public M&A would be looked on favourably), as well as equity capital markets work including listed and unlisted (seed, Series A/B/C and pre-IPO) capital raisings, ASX Listing Rules and Corporations Act compliance, and commercial contractual work involving distribution or franchising arrangements (so some exposure to product liability/Australian Consumer Law would be beneficial).
