We are seeking experienced lawyers to join our Insurance Litigation team in Melbourne on a full-time basis. This role will see you work alongside highly regarded partners Peter McGrath, Emma Dawes and Hannah Jankiewicz in a highly collaborative and supportive team.
The practice focuses on defending medical malpractice claims brought against Victorian public health organisations, health care providers and individuals in the Victorian Courts. The team has a depth of experience and a strong foundation for any lawyer who has a desire to build a specialisation in this area and work within a talented team of dedicated specialists.

Our Insurance Litigation team are passionate about what they do and genuinely enjoy working with one another. Our lawyers are highly skilled and we are looking for a likeminded individual who, in addition to possessing technical excellence, embodies the spirit of collaboration.
To be successful in this role you will have 3+ years plus post qualification experience with a litigation background, ideally working in private practice on matters relating to medical malpractice, public health, personal injury or WorkCover.
You are hardworking, dedicated and possess a high level of integrity when dealing with clients and colleagues. A high level of client service is expected as are excellent organisation, written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities:
This role presents a fantastic opportunity to join one of Australia’s largest teams in the medical defence area where you will provide exceptional legal advice to clients, conduct defence as required, assist the senior lawyers and appear in court.
Subject to your experience, you will have autonomy to take ownership of the day to day running of files with supervision and mentoring from senior members of the team. You will further advance your career via exposure to a range of matters including medical negligence, personal injury, common law claims and coronial inquests. You will also be encouraged to be involved in firm activities and committees.
