FAMILY DESCRIPTION
Applied R&D (AR) consists of target-oriented research either with the goal of solving a particular problem / answering a specific question or for multi-discipline design, development, and implementation of hardware, software, and systems including maintenance support. Supplies techno-economic consulting to clients. AR work is characterised by its detailed and complex nature in order to systematically combine existing knowledge and practices to further developing and incrementally improving products, operational processes, and customer-specific feature development.
SUBFAMILY DESCRIPTION
General R&D Management (GRM) comprises the management of the engineering organisation which includes development and revision of new and existing products or services. Covers monitoring of different engineering dimensions and priority setting and conflict resolution between the different organisational dimensions (if any). Contains formulation of long-term objectives, implementation of policies, and monitoring of engineering budget and development schedule. Comprises optimisation of product delivery and involvement in patent search, technology surveillance, technology trends, and is main contributor in innovation management of the company.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Architect to manage our organization’s architecture team. This individual will serve as the primary architect, responsible for planning future technology from an end-to-end perspective, identifying integration and validation tasks that fall within our domain, and driving these initiatives to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of 10 architects, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
- Provide technical guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of projects
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the telecommunication and other technology domains as automation, cloud, etc.
- Proactively identify opportunities for innovation that align with market needs and business strategy.
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand market trends, customer needs, business goal, and translate these into tangible actions in the R&D
- Build up a healthy balance between technical expertise and business acumen.
- Develop architectural strategies that drive business growth, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Engage with clients to understand their business challenges and provide expert consultation on how our solutions can drive business success.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in telecommunications or networking domain, with at least 5 years in a technical lead role that involved significant interaction with executive leadership
- Proven ability to design and implement complex architectures, and present it to internal or external stakeholders
- Couple of years of experience in a customer facing technical role (preferably Solution Architect)
- Couple of years of experience in a business oriented role is considered as a plus (Product Manager, Business Development Manager, Technical Sales etc.)
- Technical & Business Skills:
- Strong understanding of Core Network technologies in an E2E manner
- Experience in cloud computing, virtualization, SDN, NFV, and related technologies, with an emphasis on their business applications.
- Ability to develop business cases, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and communicate the business value of technical solutions.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on driving both technical excellence
- Strong communication and excellent presentation skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align technical strategies with business goals.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on balancing technical and business considerations.
