Grocery Logistics Singapore (GLS) a wholly owned subsidiary of FairPrice Group Supply Chain, is a well-established logistics player in the Fast Moving Consumers Goods (FMCG) segment, incorporated since January 1993. Other than being the key logistics provider for NTUC FairPrice and its subsidiaries, we had serviced the Dairy Farm Group, Royal Ahold Group (since exited from Singapore Markets) and many small supermarket chains since our establishment.
DESIGNATION : Lead, Automation Maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Min Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronic / Mechatronics / Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in maintenance of automation systems for logistics industries and e-commerce / retail industries.
  • Experience in end to end project implementation for Robotics and Industrial Engineering
  • Excellent Communication and Stakeholder Management Skills
  • Knowledge in using AutoCAD would be advantageous but not critical.
  • Experience in goods to person / Warehouse control systems / WMS Integration software would be advantageous.
  • Experience in Automatic Storage and Retrieval System, Conveyor, lifting systems and Warehouse Management System in cold chain environment would be advantageous.
  • Hands on experience is preferred.
  • Competency in electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of commonly used automation operation software from market common vendors would be preferred. (WCS/RCS/Interfaces)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role which is part of the Supply Chain will be responsible for maintaining and improving existing automation capabilities, as well as developing a team of automation and maintenance technicians under the incumbent’s charge.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead FFDC automation maintenance team in performing regular preventive/corrective/ predictive / ad hoc on storage systems, equipment, and packaging machines that would ensure optimal operation with minimal disruption to supply chain’s operation.
  • Lead technicians in diagnosing and repair malfunctioning complex logistics and packaging equipment.
  • Leads team in determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
  • Leads automation team in modifications of robotic and automation systems.
  • Work closely with operation teams to ensure that all automation equipment and processes meet safety standards and comply with company policies.
  • Prepare reports about system performance and breakdowns from shift engineers, field technicians for management’s review and data compilation.
  • Responsible and accountable for inventory control of critical spares parts, ensuring parts availability through early parts purchase.
  • Partner with IT team and storage system vendor to troubleshoot system disruptions ensuring prompt recovery.
  • Ensures successful handover of completed automation project to Operations team, and provision of support to other functions (when required).
  • Lead team to formulate work instructions / safety risk assessment / Continuous improvement projects.
  • To be able to guide staff in identifying and resolve process related issues.
  • Ability to calculate and identify bottlenecks in process flow to prevent bottlenecks and formulate backup plans with operations team as a preventive measure.
  • Site budget management
  • Any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
