Description:

QUALIFICATIONS

License or Certification:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; CAM certificate preferred; Associates degree or equivalent FAR Part 91 Maintenance Operations experience (as determined by the VP of Aviation and DOM) required.
  • Licenses: FAA Airframe and Power Plant license required; Inspection Authorization (IA) certification desired; valid driver’s license required; must have the ability to obtain an airport access badge.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of experience as an A&P on turbo-jet aircraft in either a corporate FAR Part 91 or FAR Part 145 aviation setting;
  • Five (5) years of experience in an MRO setting or flight department that performed maintenance in house preferred;
  • Two (2) years of team lead or supervisory experience in either a corporate FAR Part 91 or FAR Part 145 aviation setting preferred;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all functions related to aircraft operations;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of advanced aircraft systems and avionics;
  • Familiarity with FAA FAR Part 91 and ICAO Annexes (filed Differences);
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developing, implementing, and managing Maintenance Operations Standard Operating Procedures;
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and appreciation for Safety Management System (SMS) processes, including Risk Analysis and
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, iPad, and related software applications;
  • Demonstrated people mentorship, management, and leadership experience in either a corporate FAR Part 91 or FAR Part 145 aviation setting ;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and collaborative skills. Strong organizational skills are required.

Responsibilities:

POSITION PURPOSE

The central purpose of the Lead Aviation Maintenance Technician (LMT) position is to ensure that all aircraft maintenance operations are conducted safely, comply with all International, Federal, and State regulations, conform to company standard operating procedures and operational specifications, and deliver world class services that delight our customers. The LMT is a leadership position that plays a critical role in helping to advance the strategic imperatives of the Aviation function while ensuring its’ vision, mission, and values are upheld. The LMT assists the Director of Maintenance Operations (DOM) in providing day-to-day leadership and motivation for the maintenance team and ensuring they have the required tools and resources to safely, efficiently and effectively deliver technical and operational performance that is second to none. This includes assisting with the development, management, and continuous improvement of maintenance operational safety systems, procedures and standards, the mentorship and guidance to the maintenance team, and the equitable assignment of maintenance and non-maintenance duty periods. The LMT assists the DOM in the development, implementation, maintenance, and auditing of the Encompass Health Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) for Maintenance Operations, including the establishment and enforcement of all safety policies and objectives, safety promotion, safety risk assessment and safety assurance.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Assists the DOM in driving the achievement of the goals and objectives set for the Maintenance Operations area of the Aviation function
  • Assists the DOM with the development, communication, and implementation of efficient operational procedures, policies, and improvement strategies for Maintenance Operations
  • Assists in promoting a healthy culture for the maintenance team and the department
  • Supports the DOM while performing basic HR functions for the Maintenance Operations group
  • Assists with the management development, implementation, and compliance monitoring of all Encompass Aviation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Maintenance Operations;
  • Responsible for the administrative management of the Maintenance Operations Change Management process.
  • Co-chairs the Encompass Health Aviation Standards Committee;
  • Assists with the IS-BAO certification process and periodic recertification audits providing direct oversight with the requirements of the IS-BAO standard as they relate to the establishment of and compliance with Maintenance Operations SOPs
  • Assists in the administration and routine exercising of the Encompass Health Aviation Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and all other required facility safety management programs.
  • Serves as an advisor to the Encompass Aviation Leadership Team (LT) for all standardization issues and SOP development
  • Assists in administering Line Operations Safety Assessments for all maintenance personnel;
  • Assists in the scheduling of maintenance assignments and tracks activity to ensure equitable maintenance and non-maintenance duty periods across the maintenance group coordinating with the Scheduling team to ensure mission capability is maintained
  • Conducts basic maintenance new-hire onboarding indoctrination and emergency training, as well as other internal training to include customer service requirements
  • Functions as maintenance technician when assigned. S/he is responsible for supervising maintenance inspections and projects when assigned
  • Determines that all maintenance and line service operations comply with federal, state, local and international regulations, and all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that s/he is physiologically and mentally prepared and capable of performing assigned duties as defined in the Encompass Health Aviation Operations Manual (AOM).
  • Delivers the highest level of customer service to Encompass Health Corporation’s executive travelers and guests.
