LEAD BAKER - GROWING COMPANY

Local residents of Vancouver Island only.
Recently renovated, award-winning Fresh Cup Roastery Café, 1931 Mt. Newton X Rd. Saanichton, on the Saanich Peninsula offers in-house roasted organic coffees and a complete line of complimentary freshly baked goods, pastries, in-house breads and buns to compliment their existing selection of comfort foods. Most of our bakery, pastries & food is made in-house using locally or B.C. sourced organic ingredients.
We’re expanding in the near future and we’re seeking a Lead Baker who has a minimum of 3 years in bakery and pastry, and who is looking to expand their role into one that helps with our ongoing growth. Skills for this position MUST include: competent knowledge of most making breads (including foccaccia, brioche), tart and puff pastry dough’s, inventory management, production planning and Microsoft Word and Excel. The successful candidate will have a minimum 3 years working in a commercial bakery setting, and some supervisory or leadership experience is a definite bonus. We have a catering contract with SSP Food Travel Experts to provide finished products to the second Fresh Cup YYJ Cafe location, located inside the Victoria International Airport.
The full time position is 40 hours per week (which includes a paid 30 min break daily), Monday to Friday starting at 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (we can be flexible on this).
The successful candidate also possess the following characteristics: experience working in a fast-paced environment, strong work ethic, loyal, excellent communication skills, team player, effective time management, cooperative attitude, willingness to learn and try new products and grow our company sales.
The position reports directly to the Cafe Manager who understand what we need to do to grow our revenues. We’ll contact the successful applicants to arrange an interview.

Salary: $25 /hour to start for those with the noted experience, plus a monthly bonus (scaled from $200-$400) if we achieve our monthly Sales Target.
