Responsibilities:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Business Accountability Specialist to lead governance over Wells Fargo Advisor’s supervisory control systems, including designing and maintaining systematic risk based supervisory controls, assessing their operating effectiveness, gaining consensus on proposed changes and partnering with the agile software engineering team to implement these changes.
A successful candidate must possess strong risk management, controls, data analytics, technology and/or brokerage experience as well as have strong analytical skills to evaluate controls and evaluate data.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives with broad impact which are designed to mitigate current and emerging business risk issues and concerns; act as key participant in large-scale, cross-functional planning for the business
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to manage supervisory risk scenarios and improve efficiency of supervisory processes using creative approaches though fact finding and data analysis
  • Design risk based supervision logic and system functionality for systematic supervisory controls to ensure adequate risk mitigation by assessing regulations and policies, performing in depth data analysis, and collaborating with and gaining consensus from key stakeholders
  • Work closely with the agile software engineering team responsible for the supervisory control systems to define the business requirements and provide coaching on the brokerage industry & regulations and Wells Fargo Advisors products & supervisory processes
  • Design and manage user acceptance tests of automated supervisory controls
  • Assess the design and operating effectiveness of the existing systematic supervisory controls, recommend, and implement an approach to mitigating any risks identified
  • Assess, analyze, and design complex and multi-faceted controls, protocols, and approaches with respect to risk mitigation and the control environment, including ensuring effective planning for sustainability, ongoing control adherence, reporting, measurement, technology impacts, and monitoring
  • Make decisions in complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of business’s functional area or products, operations, and regulatory environment; facilitate decision-making and issue resolution, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans; influence and lead key business partners to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid to senior-level managers to identify current and emerging risks associated with business activities and operations, and provide guidance in interpreting, developing, and implementing risk-mitigating strategies
  • Act as liaison for the business with external parties to support timeliness, appropriate response strategy, and effectiveness of communications and materials
  • May lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
  • Demo supervisory control systems, and respond to questions regarding the supervisory control systems from supervisory users, and partner with the stakeolders to help find the most effective way to utilize the systems
  • Stay informed and evaluate the implications of changing regulations and firm policies
