Working in partnership with the Police, Insurers and Government our collective aim is to make it a thing of the past but, until that’s accomplished, we’re here to compensate victims quickly, fairly and compassionately.
Last year we helped more than 42,000 people struck by uninsured and hit-and-run drivers and paid over £400 million in compensation to support victims rebuild their lives.
We’re looking for a Lead Business Analyst who thrives in working in a fast paced environment to come and join our team.
The Lead Business Analyst plays a pivotal role within the MIB in delivering robust and well considered change to the implementation and migration of key Business As Usual services. This role will bridge technical teams and business stakeholders, identifying, documenting and translating complex technical requirements into actionable solutions, whilst ensuring the systems are as user friendly as possible.
This role will ensure that the project’s technical and business process solutions align with organisational objectives and best practices, particularly around data security, permissions management, and process efficiency.
Key Outputs

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build strong relationships working closely with business SMEs, department heads, and other key stakeholders to understand business needs and priorities.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and interviews to elicit and capture requirements, identify challenges, and explore opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate complex concepts and solutions in a clear and concise manner appropriate for the audience.

Business Analysis:

  • Lead the elicitation, documentation, and analysis of business requirements, ensuring they are comprehensive, accurate, and aligned with business goals.
  • Develop detailed functional specifications, use cases, user stories, and process models to support the development and implementation of solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure that requirements are understood and translated into system design and functionality.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of acceptance criteria to enable meaningful testing, support defect triage to validate that solutions meet business needs and requirements.
  • Ensure that all deliverables meet the highest quality standards and comply with organisational standards and industry best practices.
  • Conduct reviews and walkthroughs of business requirements and functional specifications with stakeholders and project teams.
  • Analyse and document business processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend solutions to optimize performance and enhance productivity.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and improve overall business operations.
  • Utilise data-driven analysis to support decision-making and provide actionable insights.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business analysis and project management.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation and implementing best practices.
  • Contribute to maturing the Analysis practice as well as the wider change practice of the organisation through the development and refinement of business analysis methodologies, tools, and templates.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor other less experienced business analysts in the organisation, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.

Skills and Knowledge

Desirable qualifications/ technical knowledge:

  • Formal qualifications in Business Analysis
  • Knowledge or understanding of project methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile

Experience

  • Significant experience as a Senior/Lead/Principal BA
  • Experience of leading BA delivery on complex projects or programmes (>£1m)
  • Proven experience in an agile and waterfall delivery environment
  • Intermediate level experience in all or some of the following: Scrum, Kanban, Time Boxing , Adaptive planning, Burn Down Lists

Salary up to £64,000 per annum
FTC for 8 months
Grade 12
35 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

£320 (before tax) start up allowance
Hybrid working (2 days in the office per week) from our Milton Keynes office, MK14
