DESCRIPTION

General Dynamics Land Systems is on the look-out for a full-time Buyer to join our Supply Chain Team. The successful and inclusive candidate will earn a favourable salary of £35,840 to £44,800 based on experience and potential. This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally.
Joining an established team based at our Merthyr facility, you will work across a range of stakeholders. The Buyer will be responsible for working within and across the GDLS-UK Supply Chain team, ensuring the on time supply and delivery of materials. Working to support the manufacturing delivery schedule, sustainment requirements and ultimately deliver the AJAX programme.

If you were already working in this position, this is what you would have been working on this week:

  • Interrogating demand, analyses against business requirements and manages material demands in alignment with the business needs.
  • Interpret bills of materials, specifications and drawings to deliver the best outcomes.
  • Ensuring that the quantities and quality standards of materials purchased are aligned to the contracted arrangements
  • Compile RFQ /I’s for identified material requirements as necessary & can interpret & analyse the links between cost; price & margin.

  • MRP experience (Oracle preferred)
  • Microsoft Office – Intermediate Minimum
  • Consistently demonstrates the values & ethics of GDLS-UK supply chain.
  • Good communication skills – Written & Verbal.
  • Is able to prioritise workload to meet functional and business deadlines.
  • Good numeric & analytical skills
