The EES (Electronics & Embedded Systems) business unit has world class experts in the provision of real-time embedded systems, specialising in safety critical control systems. To continue to grow the business we are now looking for a Lead C&I Engineer to join our growing team.
This opportunity is working for one of our pump suppliers in the UK and is Hybrid at the client site based in Leeds. The opportunity may be perm or PSC but in either case you must be prepared for travel to client location as required. The role involves leading a team within Expleo that are assigned to working with the client to capture work packages and delegate them to the Expleo C&I team.
Responsibilities:
- Creating or updating C&I documents for a given project, including the P&ID, Control Philosophy, Wiring Diagram, Instrument List, Cable List, Instrument Data Sheets plus other end customer specific documents. Initial design is passed from the tendering team.
- Researching instruments to ensure they meet the end customers’ requirements and have the required certification. Liaise with vendors when necessary.
- Provide technical support to a small team of Engineers on multiple projects, keeping the client informed of progress and ensuring the quality of team member outputs.
- Seek and share good practice and knowledge locally to continuously improve own practices
- Plan work for the Expleo team and give completion dates to the customer.
- Run team meetings and ensure team admin is completed.
- Check and release all team members documentation to the customer and end customer when completed.
Qualifications:
- HNC in Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- A lower-level qualification such as ONC would be acceptable with significant demonstrable relevant experience performing the same/similar work.

Experience:
- CAD awareness. EPLAN desirable
- Experience in the use of Teamcenter, SAP and EPLAN is desirable, although training can be provided
