REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Leadership Experience: 6+ years as a technical or generalist artist with experience leading teams in the gaming or cinematic industry, specifically with Unreal Engine.
Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of shader languages (HLSL, GLSL), with a strong focus on shader and material development for cinematic use.
Artistic and Technical Balance: Proven experience in balancing technical and artistic aspects to deliver both photorealistic and stylized cinematic content.
Strong Communicator: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments.
Engine Proficiency: Extensive hands-on experience with Unreal Engine, particularly in creating real-time cinematic content.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with the Team Art Director to manage the Unreal Cinematics team and drive the development of cutting-edge, real-time visuals. Together, you’ll shape the cinematic vision for our titles and ensure the production pipeline meets both technical and creative needs.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of technical and generalist artists, working closely with the Team Art Director to manage and guide the Unreal Cinematics team.
Cinematic Scene Assembly: Oversee the construction and management of large-scale, real-time cinematic scenes, ensuring a balance of photorealism and artistic expression.
Advanced Material and Lighting: Lead the development of materials, shaders, and lighting setups that enhance visual storytelling and thematic depth.
Visual Effects and Animation: Supervise the implementation of visual effects and animations that elevate the cinematic experience.
Pipeline Creation and Optimization: Collaborate with the Team Art Director to establish and continuously refine the cinematic production pipeline, balancing technical efficiency with creative flexibility.
Content Optimization: Ensure cinematic content is optimized for performance meant for offline and real-time rendering while maintaining high visual fidelity.
Cinematic Direction: Guide camera operations within Unreal Engine’s Sequencer, collaborating on the creation of cinematic narratives using expert camera techniques.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure the visual quality of cinematic content aligns with the broader creative vision of the project.
Pipeline Development: Share responsibility with the Team Art Director in optimizing and improving the cinematic production pipeline.
Feedback Implementation: Ensure feedback from the Art Director and Head of Creative is effectively integrated into the team’s workflow and the final product.
