Description:
We are pleased to offer an exciting and unique opportunity to join a new psychological therapy team at the forefront of innovative community mental health practice.
The Core Community Mental Health Model will be an integrated mental health offer with colleagues from Primary Care, Secondary Care, Local Authority and Voluntary Sector working alongside one another to deliver a holistic and person-centred approach to mental health difficulties under the national Community Mental Health Transformation programme and the local Healthy Minds programme.
The Lead Clinical Psychologist/Psychological Therapist will provide individual and/or group therapy but will also act as an integral team member, working with colleagues across other sectors to ensure increased and equitable access to psychological approaches for our diverse communities across the Bradford Districts and Craven.
Clinical work will involve working with a range of presenting problems but typically with individuals whose experience of trauma is causing distress and impacting on quality of life.
Qualification in one of the therapies recommended under the national Psychological Therapies for Severe Mental Health Problems programme - including CBT, EMDR, DBT, MBT and CAT - would be advantageous but not essential. Those with an interest in Community Psychology would particularly be suited to this post.
Manage a designated caseload of patients with responsibility for their assessment (including clinical risk), implementation and evaluation of therapy.
Supervise and support psychological therapists and other health care professionals.
Support the delivery of psychological skills based interventions to service users in the team.
Proactively contribute to the achievement of positive clinical outcomes. This will include conducting evaluations using clinical outcome measures and satisfaction surveys.
Communicate effectively with patients, relatives/carers and colleagues from diverse backgrounds in a manner that is sensitive, open, welcoming and person-centered
Act as a mentor to students, support newly qualified staff and be responsible for implementing the appraisal process.
Use IT systems effectively
Maintain accurate, up to date clinical records in accordance with Trust policy.
To complete Routine Outcome Monitoring as required by service area in a timely and meaningful fashion.
Provide clinical leadership to the psychological therapists.
Support the Team Manager with operational duties; including appraisal, caseload management and providing cover in the absence of the Team Manager.
Delegate tasks to staff within their competency and ensure that the delegation/escalation process forms part of the culture of the service.
