Let’s talk about this role
As the Lead Cloud Engineer, you will provide subject matter expertise and be the leader that drives engineering and support processes that utilise the current industry best practices. You’ll also be leading the engineering of continuous delivery pipelines, public cloud infrastructure, network and security across areas and assets within the cross functional product delivery team and leading the ITSM cloud functionality and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Some other key responsibilities include:

  • Building simple, secure, and stable systems that can support continual change.
  • Working closely with the entire delivery team to ensure the group is building systems that solve customers’ needs.
  • Being the technical and people leader of the Cloud Engineering Team, assisting with project prioritisation across the group with a key focus on our cloud platforms.
  • Bringing subject matter expertise and championing operational best practices.
  • Mentoring, coaching, and managing senior and non-engineers direct reports, and driving continuous improvement within the team.

Let’s talk about you

With previous experience in leading a team within an IT infrastructure or software development capacity, other skills and experience that will set you up for success include:

  • Relevant degree qualification in a related discipline and/or equivalent industry experience
  • Extensive experience developing and/or running complex multi-tiered business critical and digital systems.
  • 5+ years’ experience in working with and implementing virtualised infrastructure and public cloud; AWS and Azure highly desirable.
  • A solid understanding on ITIL and/or experience with ITSM & ITAM
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft and Linux based platforms hosting web servers, application frameworks and databases.
  • Advanced experience with development and scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, CDK, Bicep and/or Typescript
  • Advanced experience with building and maintaining build and development CI/CD tools and version control systems.
  • Significant prior experience with security hardening and secure development practices.
  • Demonstrable business continuity or disaster recovery planning experience.
