WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE:

Oracle Database Administration:
Proficient in installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle databases (versions 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c).
Perform database backups, restores, and recovery processes for on-premises and cloud databases, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime using Oracle RMAN, Data Guard, GoldenGate, and other Oracle backup/recovery tools.
Manage and monitor database performance, optimize queries, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive tuning measures with a deep understanding of database performance tuning, query optimization, and high-availability solutions (e.g., RAC, Data Guard).
Apply patches, upgrades, and maintain database security.
Exadata Platform Management:
Administer Oracle Exadata platforms, including hardware and software components (storage, compute, networking).
Perform capacity planning, monitoring, and troubleshooting for Exadata systems.
Coordinate with various agencies/teams to manage and support Exadata infrastructure, including working with the Oracle cloud support team.
Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions using Exadata.
Database Migration to OCI:
Plan, design, and execute migrations of Oracle databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Work with cloud architects to seamlessly integrate on-premise databases with OCI cloud services (Autonomous Database, Oracle Cloud Storage, etc.).
Execute database migrations using Oracle Data Guard, Oracle GoldenGate, Data Pump, or other tools.
Ensure migrated databases are optimized for performance, availability, and security in the OCI environment.
Collaboration & Reporting:
Collaborate with various agencies, architects, system administrators, and cloud engineers to ensure smooth database operations.
Provide various stakeholders with regular updates and status reports on migration schedules and progress, system health, and performance.

YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE:

• Bachelor’s degree in relative area of study or equivalent work experience and certifications
• 10+ years’ experience working as an architect in designing, developing, and delivering technology solutions for state and local clients
• Strong alliance to Google, AWS, Azure, OCI, and other progressive cloud/container vendors is a requirement.
• Hands-on experiences with core cloud services (storage, networking, firewalls, DNS, databases, applications, data analytics, compute, container services) across any cloud provider, preferably Oracle Cloud
• Hands-on experience in programming and scripting technologies like Java, Python, Groovy, Shell, Go
• 7+ years of Hands-on experience in designing and developing IaC automation using terraform or other related technologies
• 7+ years Hands-on experience designing and developing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins Pipelines or other CI tools
• Hands-on experience in developing utility scripts and tools using python or shell
• Hands-on experience in using DevOps tool set Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, Sonar, Fortify, Spinnaker etc.
• Experience in building and deploying docker images
• Knowledge of implementing Disaster Recovery solutions on-premises or cloud
• Experience working with agile tools preferably Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence
• Experience developing unit tests for pipelines
• Knowledge of 12 factor app methodology
• Demonstrated experience in design patterns, architecture best practices, cost optimizations, delivering purpose-built solutions
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing on-prem, hybrid, and Multicloud solutions.
• In-depth knowledge and hands on experience in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
• Proficiency in cloud architecture design principles and best practices.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure components in the cloud.
  Experience in preparing cost estimation for cloud solutions.
